Poem "Difference"

Look around yourself and tell me what is there.
Who is around you? Observe them but don't stare.
Do you see in colors, or do you see the people within?
Do you judge or do you let your eyes see under the skin?
Do you let yourself be averted by someone of another race?
Have you ever let yourself fall victim to this bad taste?
For what really makes you different from them in the end?
You just look at them and walk away, what have you learned then?
You haven't learned a thing, too biased by prejudice.
Would it really hurt you to keep an open mind? Ever ask yourself this?
You wouldn't know who they are, you aren't inside their head.
You don't know their thoughts, or what kind of life they've led.
For if we were all of the same color, would anyone behave differently?
Or would we still be the same as we are currently?
No matter who we are on the outside, it's the spirit inside that defines.
And a spirit cannot be caged in the body, so why do we draw these lines?
What is the price of seeing what is outside the mind and soul?
Why do we treat each other differently, for don't we all have the same goal?
Do we not want to succeed in life? To make ourselves the best we can?
And yet we drag ourselves down by differentiating between colors of man.
For what truly makes us different? We should hang our heads in shame.
For each of us is unique, and that is what makes us all the same.

Brand New Poem "Mother Dearest"

I just wrote this because of my mother...She's hard to deal with sometimes...

This goes out to you, mother dearest...
You seem to thrive on bringing pain, you sadist.
You dwell on things that have past, no matter how long it's been.
Time heals all wounds? I think not when you're in the scene.
You constantly bring me down, you're like lead in water wings.
Nonstop your tongue lashes, bitter and cruel towards all things.
Mother dearest, what have I done to displease?
Mother dearest, why must you bring me to my knees?
Mother dearest, why must you pick at the wound?
Mother dearest, why do you make me feel doomed?
I must go away now, mother dearest...
Do not look for me, for I am lost in your confounding forest.
Your brand of love stings me, it leaves an ache in my heart.
Your brand of care leaves nothing to me, it tears me apart.
So mother dearest, I will continue to wish for the best.
I will always carry you, deep inside my chest.
Mother dearest, I cannot bring myself to hate.
I could not go to your level, I could not be an ingrate.
I cherish all that you've done, those twisted, loving deeds.
But somehow inside of me, you planted the proper seeds.
I've grown into a man, caring, loyal and strong.
Maybe you knew, a part of your enigma all along.
So I thank you mother dearest, for making me who I am today.
And on my path of love and healing I will never go astray.

Love Poem "How Could I?"

How did I exist before we came to be?
There is no answer for this question, for I was not me
For when you found me, I was the shell of an abused man
I was used, abused, violated again and again
Those first words you spoke breathed life into me
Somehow it immediately set me free
I was cold when you found me, but your words set me on fire
The ice didn't even melt, just flashed to steam from my burning desire
From the first words you spoke, my spirit started to fly
I loved you so much, yet thought you would never love this guy

How could I have thought such a thing? I realize now that I'm your soulmate
How could I have been afraid of you? You made me feel so great.
How could I have been missing this for all of my life?
I never thought that someone would be so necessary for me to survive
When you told me you loved me too, I couldn't believe it at first
Those simple words made my entire being feel so full it could burst
That was the beginning of our love for the rest of time
I was so happy with knowing that you were mine
And with you saying I was yours, I felt so at home
No longer did I feel that I was in this world alone

How could someone I barely knew have such an effect on me?
How could someone I just met feel so deep and affectionately?
How could a stranger to me be so familiar right from the start?
I don't care about the answers to these questions, as long as we never part
I still have you on this day, and I hope that I will for eternity
You are the most perfect woman for me, this is a certainty
How could I breathe when you steal my breath away?
How could I live without your warmth to keep the world at bay?
How could I exist without my other half?
I cannot let you go. To do so would be daft.

Love Poem "Divine Beauty and a Handsome Beast"

Once upon a time, in a land across the sea
There lived a young girl, a Divine Beauty
She was so lovely, so pure, so graceful
With a heart of gold, no other is more faithful
She had searched and searched, her heart yearned for love
But she could not find it, her soul remaining a caged dove
Divine Beauty enthralled all with just her sight
Even great armies would cripple to her alluring might
She had all but given up on love, thinking it beyond her grasp
Then one day, she met a boy, who's heart she did clasp

He was a Handsome Beast, his features sharp but they did entice
Everywhere he went, there was not a being that didn't glance twice
She stopped and stared, her heart skipping it's beats
He smiled at her, she thought she would topple from her feet
She smiled shyly back, his heart rate started to rise
She looked like an angel, and held such intense beauty in her eyes
When their eyes locked, it seemed as the Universe stood still
Both of their hearts, with love, did instantly fill
But their hearts were not enough, the love did continue to flow
And it never stopped for a second, just continued to grow and grow

He walked over, taking her small hand in his large palm
As soon as they touched, they were washed over by a feeling of calm
It was as if they were meant to be this way, touching each other in some way
They knew from that moment on they wouldn't be going astray
From each other and the intense love that they felt for each
It was if they fed from each other, one symbiotic leech
Their happiness fueled from the other one
They are each others own personal suns
They bring light to each others world, and wash away gray clouds
When they are together, their hearts speak out loud

Screaming of their love, and their happiness and joy
Always overcome, like a child with a new toy
He vowed to her forever that their love will reign true
And she vowed to her she will be there through and through
And so began their fairy tale, though their love is real as can be
They were inseparable, and showed affection for the world to see
For they were neither embarrassed nor afraid to show everyone
Just how they loved, the way it should be done
And so the tale of Divine Beauty and Handsome Beast continues to this day
Love growing stronger, bonds growing deeper, and two beings molded as one like clay

Love Poem "Beautiful Angel"

She's my beautiful angel, so amazing it's indescribable.
The way I feel when I'm with her, it's so incredible.
She makes me smile, no matter how I feel that day.
She completes me, she's perfect in every single way.
I love to see her smile, it's better than watching the sun set.
I've felt so deeply about her, ever since the first day we met.
She makes my heart soar, she makes my spirit free.
She does everything, and she does it all for me.
I couldn't choose someone better to spend my time through eternity.
I know that as long as I'm with her, I will live happily.
She's my beautiful angel, no one can change my mind.
She's one in a million, a catch that I'm glad I could find.

Love Poem "I Think We Need a Break"

I think we need a break, from this crazy, chaotic world.
Let's run away together, and we'll watch our love unfurl.
We can lay in the meadow, holding each other close and tight.
We can walk down the beach, hand in hand, watching the stars so high and bright.
I'll never leave your side, and I hope that you'll never leave mine.
I want to be with you forever and ever, until the end of time.
I'm happiest when I'm with you, and I hope you're happy with me.
When I see that beautiful smile of yours, it makes my heart jump with glee.
So why don't you and I go, and not care about a thing
And to you, love songs will be what I'll sing.
I think we need a break, so our love can grow and grow.
We are perfect for each other, and forever it will show.

Poem "Simply Human"

What are we all but spiders and snakes? Spitting venom through our teeth.
Succumbing to a hidden nature, a primal urge buried far beneath.
For what truly separates us from animals, are we greater than beasts?
Or are we fooling ourselves? Better because we stand on two feet?
For who invented murder? Who invented lies?
Who invented greed and war that wages in the skies?
Are we the ones to be saved, when our actions leave us damned?
Or should we be blown away, nothing more than a speck in the timeless sands.
